Driven by business growth, Vizinex RFID, a manufacturer of high performance radio frequency identification tags tailored to specific applications, recently moved into a 5,500-square-foot facility.
The company moved slightly more than a mile away from its site on Weaversville Road in Hanover Township, Lehigh County, to 6343 Winside Drive in East Allen Township.
Sandra Garby, Vizinex vice president of operations, worked with Bruce Morris of PFWeiss Realty LLC of Palmer Township to identify and lease a space that met the firm’s requirements.
Garby said the former site was 3,800 square feet and this new facility is more efficient in its layout and allowed the company to stay close to its employee base.
“We were looking to stay in the Lehigh Valley and really didn’t want to move too far away from where my employees are,” Garby said. “I was trying to keep it close and disrupting as few people as possible. It’s laid out really well and fits our operations.”
The site will allow the company to plan better and make sense of its operational layout, helping ergonomics and productivity, she said.
The company has three active partners and seven employees.
“We are actually buying equipment and looking to automate,” Garby said. “We’ve got to bring our labor and costs of goods down. As we grow, we get larger and larger orders.”
The RFID tags it makes serve a variety of industries, including medical device companies, vehicle tracking companies, glass manufacturers and the oil and gas arena for inventory purposes, she said.
“There’s definitely growth in our industries,” Garby said.
Particularly for those medical device companies that incorporate the RFID tag into their devices, Vizinex can customize a product specifically for them.
“That’s where we really come into play,” she said.
