Reading Country Club sold to Gulati family

The Reading Country Club is now under new ownership. 

The Gulati family including brothers David, Charles, and Michael, and their father, Jack recently acquired the historic Reading Country Club through their company, DCM Investments LLC.  

The country club, which was founded in 1923 as a private golf club, has evolved into a popular community resource for golf enthusiasts over the years. 

With a shared passion for golf, hospitality, and community, the Gulatis said they are committed to honoring the legacy of the institution while steering it into what they called an exciting new chapter.  

This process of the family buying the property began this past summer with an Invitation to bid issued by Exeter township, followed by tours conducted by township personnel for interested parties.  

DCM Investments emerged as the successful bidder. 

Jack Piho, chair of the Exeter Township Board of Supervisors, commented on the sale. 

 “This is a win-win situation,” Piho said. “Exeter Township will profit from having the country club in good hands and returning it to the tax rolls, and DCM Investments takes over a unique, historical property that is just waiting for a return to prominence. The citizens of Exeter and beyond will soon have a revitalized and much-improved facility to enjoy.”  

Charles Gulati will assume the role of general manager, bringing his extensive leadership experience to ensure the club’s operations align with its rich tradition and bright future.  

“We are deeply grateful to the Exeter Township Board of supervisors, the township manager, and the many individuals who made this process smooth and seamless,” he said. “Their support has been instrumental in helping us begin this journey.” The Gulati family plans to implement significant improvements to the club, designed to enhance the member and guest experience.  

“Our vision is to create a premier destination for golf, dining, and events that members of the community can take pride in,” added David Gulati. “We look forward to unveiling these updates in the coming months.”  

 The family also announced plans for the opening of Jack’s on the Green coming late March. 

It will be a new “elevated” dining experience named in honor of their father, Jack Gulati, whose vision and support have been pivotal in this endeavor, the brothers said.
