Homes sales rise, speed up in August

Low inventory continues to spark brisk buyer activity in the residential real estate market in the Greater Lehigh Valley. In August, homes sold an average of two weeks sooner than a year ago while average sales prices grew 3.8 percent. Closed sales grew 3.1 percent, but both pending sales and new listings fell, by 2.0 and 1.2 percent, respectively.
