Koze took over as president of Kay Builders in 2002 from his father, Dick Koze, who followed his dad, who founded the company in 1961.
The younger Koze “brings with him an extensive financial background and business savvy that has prepared him to reshape Kay Builders and continue to meet the changing demands and expectations of today’s homeowner,” according to his company bio.
“What we’re trying to do is be diverse, and that means serving all market segments,” Koze said in a February 2020 blog post on kaybuilders.com.
He grew up in the construction business, becoming a fixture at job sites while still in elementary school. Following his graduation from Yale, Koze held prominent financial positions at Fortune 500 firms, including Standard & Poor’s and Merrill Lynch.
One of the community organizations he supports is the Burn Prevention Foundation, which educates children and others about burn prevention education.
