Samuel Adams is once again hosting a Brewing the American Dream speed-coaching event in the Lehigh Valley.
This time, the brewer, which has operations in Fogelsville, is teaming with RenewLV to put on the event, which provides personalized business advice to those in, or looking to get into, the food and beverage industry. It’s being held Monday, May 8, at the Allentown Brew Works from 4-8:30 p.m.
Joyce Marin said RenewLV was interested in partnering on the event because the work helps bolster the organization’s mission of smart growth and revitalization.
“We have a vision for the region where we will preserve our farmland, preserve local farm businesses and grow local produce that can then be made into products,” said Marin, RenewLV executive director. “This is part of respecting that connection between economic development and the land.”
Marin said there are a number of topics which will be covered, and participants can meet with experts on subjects such as accounting and business plans and even product development and packaging.
“While the event is ideal for startups, you don’t have to have a business to come to this,” she said.
She said those looking to enter the food and beverage industry can also get useful help and advice.
Of particular interest at this latest speed-coaching event are the growing craft brew and spirits industries – both creating a number of new businesses and jobs in the region.
Marin expects to have experts on hand to specifically answer the needs in those industries, as well as those looking to produce food products or open a bar or restaurant.
“No small business subject is off limits,” Marin said.
Sam Adams founder Jim Koch created Samuel Adams Brewing the American Dream in 2008 to provide support to business owners in two areas he wishes he had help with when launching Sam Adams: real-world business advice and a loan.
The latest speed-coaching event is free and open to all entrepreneurs in food, beverage and craft brewing.
