Sidhu joined the bank as chief operating officer in January 2020 and became CEO on July 1, 2021. He leads “650 talented, smart, diverse and enthusiastic team members delivering innovative, tech-forward financial services nationwide. We build value for our shareholders. We help our clients take on tomorrow.”
He said he’s proud that Customers recognized the typical banking model “would not scale sufficient” to the needs of the COVID-19 crisis. Using a team of fintechs, the bank funded over 320,000 Paycheck Protection Program loans with an aggregate value of $9.5 billion by May 2021.
“Try something,” he advised. “It that doesn’t work try something else. There is seldom a shortage of ideas. Find the will to try. Sometimes you fail, but you can learn from that. Persist. Try something else. You will be successful in the end.”
To relax, Sidhu said he spends time with his wife and two young daughters, and sneaks in golf when possible.
