After a 27-year career with Comcast, Ames came out of retirement to take over as a senior vice president and general manager for RCN.
The Princeton, New Jersey-based TV and internet provider, which serves customers in parts of the Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley regions, announced this year that it is rebranding itself as Astound Broadband.
In a 2018 article, Ames told Lehigh Valley Business that his success at RCN was due to luck at being able to “work with smart folks whose leadership style rubbed off on me.”
“If I am a good leader, it is because I listen when people talk. We want hear what our customers and employees want and take action to make that happen.”
