SBA seeks nominations for annual awards

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Eastern Pennsylvania District Office is seeking nominations for its 2024 National and District Small Business Week Awards, including Small Business Person of the Year. 

The annual event recognizes the contributions of small businesses nationwide. Last year’s winners included businesses located in Allentown, Danville, Lancaster, Philadelphia, Reading, and Wayne and represented industries such as business services, food, health, IT, manufacturing, and retail.  

“Pennsylvania’s small businesses are essential to our communities – creating jobs, inspiring innovation, and delivering the goods and services our nation and world has come to depend on,” said Eastern Pennsylvania District Director Steve Dixel. “We look forward to recognizing our local outstanding small businesses and entrepreneurs with these awards, which are one of the nation’s highest honors for small business achievement.” 

The SBA Awards given in celebration of National and District Small Business Week will include the following: 

• Small Business Person of the Year (National and District) 
• Small Business Exporter (National and District) 

Local Awards: 

• Entrepreneurial Success of the Year 
• Family-Owned Small Business of the Year 
• Minority-Owned Small Business of the Year 
• Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year 
• Veteran-Owned Small Business of the Year 

• Young Entrepreneur of the Year 

The Eastern Pennsylvania District Office must receive all nominations by electronic submission to the District’s BOX account https://sba.app.box.com/f/568e3f23d6794829bbc6a6b2fb6cd48e no later than 4 p.m. Dec. 7.
