Scott Stevenson

President and CEO

Phoebe Ministries

Scott Stevenson was appointed president and CEO of Phoebe Ministries in 2008. He is responsible for the operations of all of its entities, subsidiaries, partnerships, and programs. In conjunction with Phoebe’s governing board, he leads the development of strategic vision for the organization.

Additionally, Stevenson serves as president of the organization’s reciprocal risk retention group. He has over 30 years of financial and operational experience across the continuum, including acute care, long-term care, and community-based services.

He describes his leadership style as a servant leader who empowers his colleagues. “I believe it is my job to help our leaders be successful and enhance their leadership skills. That approach has had a very positive impact,” Stevenson said, “Our Faith In Action (FIA) initiative, which sets our cultural expectations, was developed through a servant leader team approach. We also formed an internal year-long leadership development program focusing on individual growth, creation of a leadership development plan, and other aspects of leadership.”

He said the pandemic significantly impacted the senior services industry. Stevenson saw firsthand the effect it was having on seniors Phoebe serves and on the organization’s employees. “We responded with FIA meetings to identify employee struggles. Recently, we implemented an initiative, Compassion in Action, as a response to post-COVID trauma and a long-term enhancement to our FIA values. Our efforts to support a positive culture have been in place for decades and continue evolving to sustain a culture where individuals feel valued.”
