A grand opening is planned next week for the new location at 2246 Lancaster Pike in Shillington.
There are currently 581 Sheetz in the chain’s territory throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio and North Carolina.
The store will employ between 25 and 30 people both full and part time.
In addition to gas, the Sheetz locations have food and beverage sales 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Customers can use touch-screen terminals to order any of Sheetz’s customized specialty drink or food items.
According to a spokesperson for Sheetz, while beer sales are not yet available at this store, Sheetz does plan to sell beer at the location. However, no timeline has been set.
Grand opening festivities are planned for Sept. 13 starting at 10 a.m.
Those participating are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for their Fill the Truck Campaign and there are giveaways for those who help.
There will also be free soda and coffee for a limited time that day.
The Altoona-based company will also be making donations to area charities to mark the opening of the new store, including $2,500 each to the Greater Berks Food Bank and the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania. A truck load of food will also be donated to the food bank.
