With a tight workforce, companies are having to get creative if they want to attract the top talent to come work for them.
Live! Dining & Entertainment, which is opening a Sports & Social venue at 645 Hamilton St. In Allentown is no different.
Sports & Social combines the traditional elements of a sports tavern with classic games and live entertainment. It is replacing the Hamilton Kitchen restaurant.
While the company is employing traditional recruiting practices, like help wanted ads, Tony Monoco, vice president of operations for the Mid-Atlantic region for the company said they are also pulling out all the stops for a two-day job fair.
But this will be no ordinary job fair, applicants will be getting the red-carpet experience – literally.
To make the job fair more of an affair, the company is rolling out an actual red carpet and has hired a DJ to play music for the two events Monday, March 28 and Wednesday March 30 at the hiring center at 21 N. 7th St., Suite 3 in Allentown.
There will also be food and beverages served and the hiring staff will have an air horn on hand so they can celebrate when someone joins the team.
“We w ant these fairs to be similar to the concept of the properties,” said Monaco. “We want to create a fun atmosphere for candidates to come in and meet our staff.”
So far, Monaco said hiring is going well. After about one month of hiring they already have 50 of the 100 full- and part-time workers they want to have on board in time for the venue’s opening later this spring.
The company is looking to hire managers, servers, barbacks, bartenders, hosts, bussers, line cooks, dishwashers, and prep cooks.
