The Lehigh Valley is losing one of its major distribution centers. Stitch Fix, which bills itself as an online personal stylist selling curated clothing, has announced it is closing its facility at 4770 Hanoverville Road in Lower Nazareth Township.
In a report on its financial results for the third quarter of Fiscal 2023, which ended April 29, the company said it would not be renewing its lease at the site as it consolidates from five distribution centers down to three.
“By moving to a three-distribution center network, from our current five-distribution center network, we will have greater depth and breadth of inventory available to our stylists to serve clients,” the company said in the report.
The company is also closing a distribution center in Dallas, Texas.
Stitch Fix opened its Lehigh Valley location in 2016, with the hiring of 500 people.
The company has not yet issued a WARN notice concerning impending layoffs from the closure, but published reports indicated about 375 positions would be affected.
Stitch Fix had previously closed down operations in Berks County in the fall of last year and in January it announced it would be cutting about 20% of its salaried workforce nationwide.
The company’s latest financial report shows earnings down 20% from last year.
