He is global president of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, including nine years on the global board. “It is the preeminent commercial real estate organization worldwide,” he said, “and exposed me to all things real estate and finance, which in turn positioned us to help our clients with their real estate decisions.”

Markward said he has learned to “never stop and never give up. Persistence and relationships win the day. We can make a positive impact on others’ lives by staying diligent and persistent.”

In his spare time, he plays golf “because it drives you crazy and you come back for more to try to do it better. Also, I like to sit on boards (for profit and nonprofit) and stay involved in other companies to see the way the economy works on different industries.”

As president of a small commercial construction management company for 10-plus years, Landrigan said he is “actively involved in every aspect of the business, from resolving issues on a project jobsite with our superintendents and project managers, to conceptual design and detailing, to business development, client presentations, and overall business operations and strategic planning.”

He is proud of becoming an architect. Ten to 15 years ago, “I had that goal … and spent about five years working in a setting that enabled me to accomplish that goal,” which “has opened up doors that would never have been available to me without it.”

Landrigan said he has learned to adhere to “a stoic philosophy of truly being grateful for the life I have, including not worrying about things outside of my control, accepting of the ups and downs that come with the decisions I make, and giving of myself regardless of the outcome.”

For fun, he enjoys outdoor exercise activities, including walking his dogs, hiking, running, golf and “tennis as well as any family activities as a way to laugh and relax.”

Koze took over as president of Kay Builders in 2002 from his father, Dick Koze, who followed his dad, who founded the company in 1961.

The younger Koze “brings with him an extensive financial background and business savvy that has prepared him to reshape Kay Builders and continue to meet the changing demands and expectations of today’s homeowner,” according to his company bio.

“What we’re trying to do is be diverse, and that means serving all market segments,” Koze said in a February 2020 blog post on kaybuilders.com.

He grew up in the construction business, becoming a fixture at job sites while still in elementary school. Following his graduation from Yale, Koze held prominent financial positions at Fortune 500 firms, including Standard & Poor’s and Merrill Lynch.

One of the community organizations he supports is the Burn Prevention Foundation, which educates children and others about burn prevention education.

Jaindl oversees a portfolio of family-owned and family-controlled companies based in the Lehigh Valley, including The Waterfront Development Co., American Bank, Vault 634 LLC, Jaindl Properties LLC and SteelRock Property Management LLC.

He has been president/CEO of Waterfront Development, Jaindl Enterprises and Jaindl Properties since their founding in 2011, and president/CEO of American Bank Inc. and American Bank from the beginning, in 1997.

Jaindl is proud of repurposing a 29-acre site in Allentown, previously the site of Lehigh Structural Steel, into a mixed-use complex of offices, retail space and apartments. “In addition, we were able to purchase 3.5 miles of underutilized railroad that has provided the foundation for the development of Riverside Drive and the link to the D&L Trail, which will be a part of the 9/11 Memorial Trail.”

Giving back is a priority. “I learned from a very young age that supporting my community and those who need help is not only important to those receiving assistance, but also in creating a sense of purpose and accomplishment,” Jaindl explained. “There is no better feeling than the positive emotions one feels inside when giving back and helping others.”

Away from work, he said he enjoys spending time with family and visiting them in Newport, Rhode Island, “strolling along Cliff Walk with my dogs and hearing the sound of the ocean.” Jaindl also likes the occasional round of golf.

Hoffman said she was inspired to become an architect at age 16. “I’ve been one for 25 years, partner for 17 years, president for six years.”

Her job is to lead the firm and create the vision “that continues to take MKSD ‘Beyond the Building’ to better serve our clients and community.” She is responsible for business development, fostering client relationships, financial management and team development. Plus, “I still perform my first job as architect: designing buildings (and keep the office snack bar stocked!).”

Hoffman said she is proud of the trust clients have in MKSD “to create beautiful, inspiring and useful environments.” And as a business owner, “having weathered many challenges and risks, I’m proud of founding and successfully growing MKSD to the firm it is today, particularly as a woman-owned business.”

“Don’t let where you come from stop you from where you’re going,” advised the daughter of Italian immigrants, neither of whom completed high school. “They taught me anything is possible if you pave the road to your dreams with passion, integrity, grit, resilience, hard work and never giving up.”

As far as relaxing, “I’m generally a joyful person and wake up grateful for the privilege of living this life, finding fun in everything: from my work at MKSD, winning and designing great projects with our awesome team and clients, to experiencing everyday life with my family (and our dog) … sometimes it’s hard, but it’s still fun!”

“A lot of my focus goes toward implementing and instructing training resources for my agents,” he said. “I had someone to look up to and learn from in my younger years in real estate, so I make it a point to be that person for my team.”

He has held his current role for 16 years. He is proud of having served as president of the Greater Lehigh Valley Association of Realtors during the pandemic.

“It is something I will never forget,” he said. “It was a trying time, but our board came together and fought a hard fight to get our industry back up and running during a time when buyers and sellers needed us the most.”

He likes traveling with his best friend and fiancee, Jill; walking his dogs, Fenway and Sox; playing poker, and reading a good book.

He handles long-term planning, fiscal management and hiring, training and retaining employees and independent contractors. As well as overseeing the operation, Frederick said he provides motivation and looks for expansion opportunities.

He is proud of “retaining and growing a fiscally responsible organization” through market challenges and numerous industry changes. “We have people … that have spent most of their career here and we consistently hire people at the beginning of their career as well,” Frederick said.

Relationships are everything, he said. “We endeavor to be the cutting edge of technology and business practices but relationships with employees and clients are the top priority.”

Outside of work, Frederick and his wife, Karen, have enjoyed raising their children for the past two decades. “Spare time included lots of soccer games, school activities, etc.,” he said. Among his personal interests are golf, skiing, hiking and flying airplanes. “All the above come with a challenge and need to focus but (the) results are very rewarding.”

Duelberg-Kraftician said she has “learned to remain humble and not take myself too seriously. Firms are composed of teams where everyone plays a role and is valued for their individual talents. Teamwork is essential to be successful in today’s environment, both business and private.”

To “recharge and remain balanced,” she takes long walks, reads, gardens, volunteers and spends time with friends. “My family pets – a dog, cat and two chickens – make me smile every day,” she said. “I love everything related to design and enjoy visiting museums, art exhibits, and admiring designer furniture.”
