Greg L. Butz

Greg L. Butz

President and CEO

Alvin H. Butz Inc.

Butz has been president since 1995, “following four generations dating back to the mid-1800s, and looking forward to passing it to the sixth generation.”

He is also CEO of Shoemaker Construction Co. and Alexander Building Construction Co.

His job, Butz said, is to execute a vision that is “dedication to superior project delivery, build(ing) on our tradition of excellence with an unwavering commitment to quality, to make sure we perform with integrity, honesty, reliability and enthusiasm, and most of all, make sure we maintain a commitment to our community.”

That community commitment stands out, Butz added. “While there are many business accomplishments like year after year being the only local firm to be recognized as a top 400 (construction management) firm in the country, I’m most proud of the all-star team of employees we’ve assembled and special relationship we have with local charitable organizations and trade partners.”

His recommendation? “If you surround yourself with successful people and seek advice from them, you’re more than likely be successful at work and in life. I’ve been fortunate to have had a good network of employees, business associates and friends to help me.”

As for finding ways to take a break, that’s a challenge when you’re responsible for 200 employees and $1 billion of work across multiple states, Butz said. “So I look for things to do to relax and de-stress. Those things include golf, traveling, watching sporting events and enjoying my grandchildren.”

Sean A. Boyle

Sean A. Boyle

President

Boyle Construction

Boyle is in charge of the overall management, operations and performance of the company, including long-term planning, strategies and goal setting. “I am also involved in the projects – more in the design and planning stages during preconstruction,” he said.

President of Boyle Construction since 1996, he began as a project engineer and then moved to project superintendent, project manager and vice president.

The business has built landmark projects such as the Hoover-Mason Trestle. Boyle has also developed long-term relationships with many clients, helping them grow their business. “Some companies we have worked with for over 30 years,” he said. “I’m most proud of assembling an amazing, dedicated team of nearly 90 people who I work with every day.”

Boyle advised, “Surround yourself with people more talented than yourself, develop a culture that inspires your team, and then get out of the way and let them do what they do best. Regardless of the business you’re in, developing a talented team and a positive culture is the key to successfully serving your clients.”

In his spare time, golf and cooking are Boyle’s passions. “I am much better at cooking than golf these days,” he said, with family and friends the beneficiaries. “I enjoy finding or creating recipes or finding a great locally sourced ingredient from a farmer’s market and building a recipe around it.”

Daniel C. Bosket

Daniel C. Bosket

Director

Community Action Development Corporation of Allentown

Bosket manages community development initiatives, nurtures relationships with community partners and funders and elevates the voices of Allentown residents.

He is most proud of giving residents “a seat at the table,” equipping them with the skills, confidence and motivation needed for them to become advocates for improving their neighborhoods.

“I have learned that every person should be valued first as a human being, and then we need to understand who they are, not who we perceive them to be,” he said. “Although this seems basic and fairly straightforward, it’s critical and necessary in earning mutual trust and respect.”

Michael W. Adams

Michael W. Adams

Senior Vice President

NAI Summit

Adams has been at NAI Summit for 11 years and worked in the industry for 34. He represents building owners in the sales and leasing of their industrial and office buildings. “I am also a broker representative assisting companies in search of a building to lease or purchase,” he added.

Adams said he is proud of helping businesses grow and expand. “I have worked with companies … that I have seen start literally from their basement and become very successful. I recently worked with Orasure on a large manufacturing facility. I remember working with the original owners in the early ’90s when they were a sunscreen towelette company that started at the Ben Franklin incubator.” In addition, he assisted Ecotech, which began in a 5,000-square-foot garage and now occupies a large facility in Lehigh Valley Industrial Park VII. “I really enjoy seeing companies grow and succeed and know I had some role during that time.”

Customer service should be a major emphasis, he said. “Follow up with owners and past relationships continuously. You never know when they may need your assistance or they may provide you with an opportunity.”

Adams said he likes to golf, travel to Florida and enjoys friends and family getaway time. “It is very important to decompress so that you can be a better person, broker and friend.”
