WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. gave full approval to Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine Monday, potentially boosting public confidence in the shots and instantly opening the way for more universities, companies and local governments to make vaccinations mandatory.

But his Spanish-language Facebook page with 650,000 followers was exactly what Colorado leaders were looking for as they recruited residents to try to persuade the most vaccine-hesitant.

WASHINGTON — Moderna officials say while its COVID-19 vaccine’s protection is holding up, it’s planning for booster doses to help fight the highly contagious delta variant.

Area health networks, including Lehigh Valley Health Network, St. Luke’s University Health Network, and Geisinger Health System, will now offer the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine to children ages 12 to 15.  

51.9% of Pennsylvania’s eligible population have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine as of May 7, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. More than 43% are fully vaccinated. 

Pennsylvania-based Rite Aid Pharmacy is partnering with the state to ease access to COVID-19 vaccinations for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Gov. Wolf announced.

Lehigh Valley Health Network is now accepting walk-ins at its COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic–Northampton Crossing at 3768 Easton Nazareth Highway in Lower Nazareth Township.
