Dorney Park has hired close to 1,500 positions in preparation for the 2023 season. 

It was 30 years ago this month that the Lehigh Valley got hooked on a broken heart story.

Lehigh Valley Health Network will hold a mass vaccination drive-through on Wednesday, May 12 at Allentown’s Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom.

Lehigh Valley Health Network said it is gearing up for mass COVID-19 vaccinations and hopes to vaccinate more community members sooner than initially expected in the vaccine supply allows for it.

After a late opening because of the COVID-19 shutdown, Dorney Park will also be closing down earlier than normal. In a statement on its website, the park said it will close for the season on Labor Day, Sept. 7.

As the Lehigh Valley enters the green phase of the state’s COVID-19 reopening plan, Dorney Park will open July 8, but only for season pass holders.

Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom in South Whitehall Township said it is looking to hire more than 3,000 seasonal workers for this year.

Owned and managed by the Joshi Hotel Group, the hotel has 120 guest rooms and over 1,380 square feet of meeting space to accommodate meetings of about 80 people.
