Lehigh Valley Health Network will receive $6.5 million from the state’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program for its 17th Street Hospital project, according to Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Pat Browne, R-Lehigh, and Representative Mike Schlossberg, D-Lehigh. 

St. Luke’s Anderson Campus has opened a new emergency room. 

St. Luke’s University Health Network opened its expanded and renovated emergency room to meet growing need for urgent care at its hospital at Hamilton and 17th streets in Allentown this week. 

St. Luke’s Allentown Campus is undergoing a $6.3 million renovation and expansion to accommodate increases in emergency patients.  

Officials said the new department, which includes an expanded adult ER and new observation and trauma facilities, is now the largest and most advanced in the state.
