An employee of Lehigh Valley Hospital-17th Street in Allentown has tested positive for COVID-19, which is the first positive case in Lehigh County, according to the Lehigh Valley Health Network. The employee is currently out of the hospital on self-quarantine at home. The employee has not been at LVH-17th Street since March 9.

Lehigh Valley Health Network has established patient testing centers for coronavirus throughout the Lehigh Valley region. The test detects active disease and not if a patient has been exposed, according to LVHN. It is important that tests are reserved for only those who need them most.

Health care centers say that they are focused on educating staff members by offering holistic activities, and mindfulness stress management programs are front-and-center at several area hospitals. These courses are offered at a discount or free to hospital employees.

Lehigh Valley Health Network is taking over Cedar Crest EmergiCenter in South Whitehall Township, and Airport Road EmergiCenter in Allentown.

Lehigh Valley Health Network will switch from Sodexo to Compass One Healthcare for food services. Sodexo, the Maryland-based food services management company, issued a WARN notice earlier this month.
