Farmers and landowners in rural areas of Pennsylvania now have new guidance on using their properties for solar production. 

MCS Industries, the Easton-based picture frame manufacturer, has installed a solar power generating system on the rooftop of its new 250,000-square-foot distribution center in Palmer Township.

Talen Energy, the independent power producer that was spun off from PPL Corp. in 2015, has entered into a $2 billion joint venture with Pattern Energy Group to grow its renewable energy portfolio.

The Forks Township-based manufacturer of crayons and other art supplies said it is now using 100% renewable energy for its operations.
