Mack Trucks said it has been awarded a contract with a cooperative purchasing agency for public and government agencies.
The contract is with Sourcewell, which was previously known as the National Joint Powers Alliances. It is a government agency that uses cooperative purchasing to fulfill the bidding process to save member agencies time and money. All education and government entities, as well as nonpublic schools and nonprofit organizations, can register with Sourcewell as a participating agency.
Rather than solicit bids individually, Sourcewell combines efforts into a shared process, eliminating the need for time-consuming bid development from each member agency.
The contract would give members volume discounts on the purchase of Mack’s Class 6 through 8 trucks, which are manufactured at Mack’s Lehigh Valley Operations in Lower Macungie Township.
