As CEO, Scalici’s main responsibilities include leading the firm’s strategic planning team, overseeing financial operations, key client acquisition as well as team member recruitment, coaching and mentoring.  He is a co-founder of Cornerstone Advisors Asset Management and has served as its CEO since 2002. 

He said most of the company’s revenue is tied to the performance of financial markets. “Last year was the first time since the 1970s that both stocks and bonds were down in the same year, creating a challenging and stressful environment for clients. Proactively communicating, remaining disciplined in implementing previously agreed upon long-term strategies, managing emotions, and taking advantage of the opportunities presented in a down market were all ways to mitigate some of their pain and anxiety,” Scalici said. 

Cornerstone is a 100% employee-owned organization. “For years we have promoted an ownership mentality throughout every position in the company. Our team really came together to service our clients during a difficult period for them. We were rewarded by being named as one on the Best Places to Work in our industry. The growth of our team, their decision-making and their genuine care for our clients is what I am proudest of,” he said.
