UGI Utilities CEO gets new position

Beard will remain as president and CEO of UGI Utilities and will be responsible for utility operations and midstream and marketing activities of UGI Energy Services, based in Wyomissing, and subsidiaries.

UGI Energy Services supplies and markets natural gas, liquid fuels and electricity to 40,000 customers across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.

Beard joined UGI Utilities in 2008 and previously served as vice president, marketing, rates and gas supply, and as vice president, Southern region. He has held his current position since 2011.

Beard has more than 20 years of experience in the utility industry, and previously served as vice president of operations and engineering of PPL Gas Utilities Corp.

The change becomes effective Oct. 1.

In addition, Roger Perreault was appointed executive vice president, global liquefied petroleum gas, where he will be responsible for its distribution businesses conducted through AmeriGas Propane LP and UGI International and their subsidiaries.

Perreault will continue to serve as president of UGI International, which he has held since 2015.

“The creation of these two new executive roles will allow us to better support strategic initiatives, accelerate growth, drive efficiencies and foster best practice sharing across the company’s four business segments,” John L. Walsh, president and CEO, UGI Corp., said in a statement.
