Walmart celebrated the grand reopening of its Hamilton Crossings location with a focus on its commitment to the community.
As part of the grand opening, the store put a spotlight on Harrisburg-based supplier Nicobi Foods in honor of National Small Business Month.
Nicobi Foods now sells its products at more than 100 Walmart stores after it came through the Open Call process.
The business makes low-sodium seasonings and rice blends inspired by cultural comfort foods.
With its recent expansion across Walmart stores, officials with the Lehigh Valley store said they are proud to recognize this homegrown success story and celebrate Nicobi’s continued growth.
The retail chain also held a ribbon cutting to mark the changes to the supercenter.
The store has transformed departments, added more apparel brands and expanded online pickup and delivery
Among the additions are new digital touchpoints located throughout the store help communicate the vast assortment of products and services Walmart offers online through the use of QR codes and digital screens
“At Walmart, enhancing our customers’ shopping experience is always a priority,” said Evelyn Rodriguez Rodriguez, Walmart store manager. “I’m most excited about the new fashions our remodel has brought into our store. I’d also like to thank everyone dedicated to the renovation process.”
The ceremony also included the unveiling of the store’s new mural, designed and illustrated by local Allentown artist, Emily Schnall.
The mural depicts roller coasters at Dorney Park and the fast-paced cyclists at the Velodrome and the vibrant music festivals in the Lehigh Valley.
This mural is part of Walmart’s Community Mural Program.
