Operating a business takes a lot of hard work and a team of dedicated employees – and sometimes help from family.
Indeed, many businesses throughout the Greater Lehigh Valley can track their success through family roots in the company.
One business that has been family owned and operated with a track record of success is TAB Industries LLC in Muhlenberg Township.
Here to answer this week’s “Behind the List” questions is Tom Brizek, president and CEO of TAB Industries.

Lehigh Valley Business: How long has TAB Industries LLC been operating in the region and what are its primary services?
Tom Brizek: TAB Industries was incorporated in Berks County on Aug. 15, 2005. Over the past 11 plus years, we have grown through four buildings with locations in the general vicinity. This growth was due to our synergy of diversified services.
We provide services that encompass warehousing and logistics, transportation, fabrication, manufacturing and we are the original equipment manufacturer of the TAB Wrapper Tornado – a self-designed and engineered orbital stretch wrap machine offered to customers globally.
LVB: What have been some of the biggest challenges and opportunities that TAB Industries LLC has encountered throughout its years in business?
Brizek: We began operations as an East Coast warehousing facility for a West Coast hollow metal door and frame company servicing door hardware distributors located in mid-Atlantic states.
This venture was strictly a startup operation initially providing minimal income. To offset this deficit, we also offered manufacturing services including, but not limited to, laser cutting, forming, welding, machining and powder coating.
