Maple Grove Raceway, a drag racing destination for over half a century, is for sale.

The Brecknock Township race track was listed June 4 for $8 million, according to Jim Bedorf, Realtor with the Bedorf-Prince Team of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, based in Camp Hill.
Opened in 1962, the quarter-mile length raceway is sanctioned by the National Hot Rod Association and features drag racing and other automotive-oriented events from April to November.
The Berks County race track has hosted the Lucas Oil Series, Ford Motorsports Nationals and Sunoco ET Series.
Maple Grove’s 111-acre lot includes the racing business and 14 parcels totaling 450 acres.
The property also includes campground facilities, residential rentals, office and event buildings, and racing equipment.
“The phone has been ringing off the hook with inquiries on the property,” said Bedorf.
Bedorf mentioned that the Maple Grove lot could be used for a campground or other commercial or residential use.
Most interested parties are looking to preserve the raceway, however, he said.
“It has lots of history,” said Bedorf. “It’s one of the great racetracks, a phenomenal facility with a fabulous reputation.”
