YMCA Mifflin, Sinking Spring YMCA branches gained business awards

Listen to this articleMifflin YMCA and Sinking Spring YMCA, two branches of the YMCA of Reading & Berks County, were recognized recently as 2024 Nextdoor Neighborhood Fave businesses.
The annual award highlights local organizations. The YMCA of Reading & Berks County provide programs and community support for families and individuals.
“At the Y, our members and community are the heart of our organization,” President and CEO Phillip Borup, The YMCA of Reading & Berks County, said in a statement. “We hold their opinions in the highest regard and to receive recognition based on member feedback is an honor.”
According to a release, the Neighborhood Faves awards are based on the volume of “Faves” and recommendations from Nextdoor members over the past year. With one in three U.S. households using Nextdoor, the platform connects neighbors, businesses, and organizations around local information that matters most. A May 2023 Nextdoor survey showed 94% of members appreciate recommendations for services and businesses from fellow Nextdoor neighbors. Neighborhood Fave winners like the YMCA’s Mifflin and Sinking Spring branches typically receive six times more recommendations on their respective Business Pages, per the release.
“These Neighborhood Fave winners exemplify the outstanding local spots and service providers that bring communities together and enrich lives every day,” said Nirav Tolia, chief executive officer of Nextdoor. “We’re delighted to celebrate these trusted members of our neighborhoods, whose contributions are invaluable.”
