BSI names Val Lewis Chief Operating Officer

BSI Corporate Benefits announced the promotion of Valerie (Val) Lewis to chief operating officer.
Lewis, an Allentown native and DeSales University graduate, joined BSI, a Bethlehem-based employee benefits insurance agency, in 2012. Before being promoted to COO, she served as vice president of employee and community engagement for BSI.
“From the day I came in the door at BSI, I treated the firm as my own,” said Lewis. “The passion I have for the people here has bled into passion for the organization. Taking this new role is an honor and a natural progression.”
Lewis’s goals for moving forward in her position as COO include working on development training, recruiting and growth, she said.
“There is not a better candidate anywhere to assume the role of COO at BSI than Val Lewis,” said Tony DaRe, CEO at BSI. “Her passion for our culture, our people, our clients and our greater community, is second to none.”
BSI represents 100 clients in 41 states and internationally, according to the firm.
