Comcast said it has reached a significant construction milestone in its network expansion across the Phillipsburg area, with the overall project now more than halfway complete as the company works to bring its high-speed Internet network to more than 15,700 additional homes and businesses for the first time.
The company said construction in Greenwich, Lopatcong and Alpha is nearing completion.
Half of planned work in Phillipsburg is now complete, and Pohatcong efforts are ramping up. As construction continues, more residents and businesses will gain access to Comcast’s Internet, mobile, entertainment and security services from Xfinity and Comcast Business.
New addresses will continue to become serviceable on a rolling basis with the full project expected to be completed by the end of the year.
This network expansion is part of Comcast’s latest investment in New Jersey. In the last year alone, Comcast has connected an additional 43,000 homes and businesses in the Garden State to Xfinity and Comcast Business services.
“Reaching this milestone in Greater Phillipsburg reflects the steady progress we’re making to connect more New Jersey communities to the technology they need to live, work and grow,” said Dan Bonelli, regional senior vice president for Comcast.
