Mack Trucks will not participate in a Las Vegas construction trade show March 10-14 because of concerns about the coronavirus outbreak.

Greensboro, North Carolina-based Mack manufactures truck parts in Lower Macungie Township.

Mack plans to maintain a product display in its booth at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020 show but has no plans to staff the display.

“While we are strong supporters of CONEXPO, our first priority is the health and wellbeing of our employees, stakeholders, and their families,” said Mack Trucks President Martin Weissburg, in a statement.

Earlier this year, Mack Trucks made several announcements including the opening of a new facility in the Roanoke Valley region of Virginia that would create 250 new jobs.

In addition, Mack announced plans to lay off 305 people at its Lehigh Valley operations in Lower Macungie Township because of lower demand for the trucks manufactured there.
