Jaindl Land Co. broke ground Wednesday on a commercial office building at 6161 Hamilton Boulevard in Lower Macungie Township that will serve as office space for Buckeye Partners. Buckeye, a global petroleum company, currently has two corporate office locations, one in Houston, Texas and one In Breinigsville, in Tek Park.
Originally, the building was to be a mixed-use property with restaurant space, but now Buckeye’s 200 local employees will occupy the 73,000-square-foot, four-story office building.
The building, known as the Hamilton Commons office building, is expected to offer the company a more open, environmentally friendly and high-tech facility with room for continued growth in the future.
CBRE First Vice President Jody King represented Buckeye Partners in the lease negotiations.
“In today’s environment, it is a bright spot working with the Buckeye and Jaindl teams to participate in a groundbreaking ceremony. This is a rare and unique build-to-suit project to commence in the Lehigh Valley given the current pandemic,” said King in a statement.
Buckeye expects to be in the new building by fall 2021.
