Lehigh Carbon Community College is expanding its mobile manufacturing training in July to help meet the growing demand for workers in the industry.
The Mobile Manufacturing Lab Classrooms bring advanced manufacturing training directly to the business community, LCCC said.
The mobile classroom is equipped with cutting-edge equipment, tools and technology used in modern manufacturing environments. LCCC said it is designed to replicate a real-world manufacturing setting, providing participants with hands-on experience and practical training in various aspects of manufacturing and industrial automation.
The lab is equipped with industry-standard machinery and technology, including robotics, programmable logic controllers, CNC machines, and more, allowing LCCC to bring training directly to communities, schools and businesses, making it accessible to individuals who may not have access to traditional training facilities, LCCC said.
A variety of training programs can be tailored to the needs and interests of participants, covering topics such as robotics, automation, CNC machining, 3D printing and mechatronics. LCCC said instructors are industry professionals with expertise in manufacturing and industrial automation.
LCCC said the expansion of the program reflects its commitment to meeting the growing demand for skilled workers in the manufacturing sector.
The first lab has been offering mobile training since 2019, and the second was launched in July 2023. This third lab can be reserved now for training that is scheduled to start in July.
