Albright College in Reading is reaching out to the state’s nonprofits and municipalities to help them become more financially savvy.
The college is launching the Albright Institute for Non-Profit and Civic Administration, a new initiative that will provide financial, operational, and administrative consulting services to nonprofit organizations and government agencies throughout Pennsylvania.
The institute will offer consulting and technical assistance in such areas as financial management and accounting, budgeting and financial forecasting, audit preparation and compliance, capital improvement planning, grant writing and public funding strategies, financial policies and internal controls and interim CFO services and finance executive recruitment.
INCA will also work collaboratively with Albright’s Center for Excellence in Local Government (CELG), which brings together Berks County municipalities to provide education, professional development, and opportunities for local government leaders to exchange ideas and best practices.
“At Albright College, we believe our responsibility extends to strengthening the communities we serve,” said Deborah Townsley, president of Albright College. “Through the Albright Institute for Non-Profit and Civic Administration, working alongside Albright’s Center for Excellence in Local Government, we are bringing together the expertise of our faculty, students, and experienced professionals to help nonprofit and public organizations become stronger, more sustainable, and better equipped to fulfill their missions.”
She said INCA will also provide meaningful experiential learning opportunities for Albright students through internships and applied consulting projects.
