Lehigh Valley schools get $150K for career training

Two local schools will receive a total of $150,000 in state grant funding to enhance access to career and  

 and Lehigh Career and Technical Institute will each receive $75,000. These grants will be used to support and computer science learning and professional development and help to provide students with the critical skills needed for high-demand careers in fields like engineering, technology and health care. 

 “Investing in career and technical education is essential to ensuring our students acquire the skills necessary to thrive in the workforce,” said Rep. Milou Mackenzie, R-Lehigh/Montgomery/Northampton. “These grants will create more opportunities for students in Lehigh County to gain hands-on experience and prepare for the careers of tomorrow.” 

 The funding is coming from the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s PAsmart Advancing Grants for Career and Technical Education (CTE).
