The Downtown Allentown Alliance has announced the appointment of Lisa Finkelstein as its new executive director.
According to the Alliance, Finkelstein brings more than two decades of leadership experience in nonprofit management, economic development and downtown revitalization.
She joins DAA at a pivotal time as the organization expands its on-the-ground presence and launches new initiatives focused on hospitality, engagement and unified district identity.
“Lisa’s background in downtown management, organizational growth and collaborative leadership makes her an ideal fit for this next phase of the Downtown Allentown Alliance,” said DAA Board President Matt Malozi. “She understands how to translate vision into action and how strong partnerships create vibrant, successful downtowns. We’re fortunate to have her on the team.”
Most recently, Finkelstein served as downtown district manager for the City of Fernandina Beach in Florida, where she established and led the city’s first dedicated downtown management role, overseeing district operations, capital initiatives and board coordination.
Prior to that, she was executive director of Fernandina Beach Main Street, where she expanded community engagement, launched new programs and events, led a full organizational rebrand and developed the nationally recognized All Access Main Street program in partnership with AARP. Her earlier career includes senior leadership roles with the Boy Scouts of America’s Allentown-based Minsi Trails Council, overseeing finance, development and strategic planning, as well as a decade as owner of Attick’s Inc., a wholesale flower distribution company.
“Returning to the Lehigh Valley to lead the Downtown Allentown Alliance is both a professional and personal milestone for me,” said Finkelstein. “I’m excited to bring my experience home to help build a downtown Allentown that is vibrant, welcoming and economically strong for everyone.”
