The holiday shopping season is fast approaching and logistics providers in the region are gearing up for the expected jump in demand.
GEODIS, a global logistics provider, on Tuesday announced that it plans to hire 195 seasonal workers in the Lehigh Valley area to support the anticipated surge during peak season.
The hiring initiative is geared to enhance the company’s operational capacities in its warehouses and distribution centers with seasonal employees joining its nearly 20,000 teammates in North America. In total, GEODIS plans to hire 4,600 seasonal workers this peak season.
GEODIS is recruiting for a variety of seasonal positions, including material handlers and equipment operators, across 11 of its campuses in the U.S. and Canada, including Lehigh Valley. GEODIS provides a benefits package including competitive wages, peak premium pay incentives and peak and referral bonuses.
The company said it also allows for a range of flexible schedules with weekend opportunities and multiple daily shift options to accommodate diverse lifestyles. Both part-time (under 30 hours a week) and full-time (over 30 hours a week) seasonal positions are available.
“The trust our customers place in us to deliver exceptional service is never more critical than during peak season,” said Anthony Jordan, GEODIS in Americas executive vice president and COO. “By expanding our workforce by more than 4,600 seasonal employees, we can ensure we have a flexible and robust team that is ready when demand is at its highest and our customers need us most.”
