A groundbreaking for a new LVHN hospital campus in Lower Nazareth Township will take place on Dec. 6, according to information shared at the LVHN 2019 Community Annual Meeting.

Brian Nester, president and CEO of LVHN, stated at the meeting that the hospital will be located along Hecktown Road, off of Route 33 and include a 106,000-square-foot, two-story hospital; 35,000-square-foot Lehigh Valley Cancer Institute and 61,000-square-foot medical office building.
Also at the meeting Nester stated that ER admissions were down and hospital admissions remained flat, while ExpressCare urgent care center visits increased by 11 percent in 2019. Lehigh Valley Physicians Group visits also increased by more than 6 percent, he said.
“That’s strong evidence that LVHN patients are receiving the care they need to stay healthy in settings such as doctor’s offices, where care is less costly to provide,” Nester said.
In addition, Nester said that LVHN’s acquisition of Coordinated Health, the Lehigh Valley-based specialty health network with a focus on orthopedics, is in its final stages and that an official announcement will be made soon.
LVHN is the Lehigh Valley region’s largest health network and largest employer, with 8 hospital campuses, and employing close to 18,000 people.
