In an effort to make sure bed and breakfasts have their voices heard in the hospitality industry, the Pennsylvania Association of Bed & Breakfast Inns (PABBI) has joined forces with the Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association (PRLA.)
The new partnership is expected to bring the state’s independent innkeepers new resources, expanded advocacy and improved visibility.
PRLA works to promote, protect, educate, improve, and advance Pennsylvania’s hospitality and tourism industries.
Over the past decade, the association has expanded its reach beyond restaurants and hotels to include Pennsylvania’s destination marketing organizations, amusement parks, attractions, campgrounds and caterers, representing thousands of owners and operators statewide,
“Hospitality is stronger when we work together,” said Joe Massaro, PRLA president & CEO. “Whether we’re fighting human trafficking, advocating for fair regulations and parity in the industry, or ensuring tourism funding reaches every corner of the Commonwealth, we’re all in this together.”
With PRLA’s leadership regularly meeting with the Pennsylvania General Assembly, as well as state tourism and economic development officials, B&Bs will have a more meaningful seat at the table in shaping policies that impact our industry’s future funding and licensing to tourism promotion. Working together, new educational pathways can be developed that encourage a new generation of innkeepers, he said.
All current PABBI members will automatically become PRLA members on Aug. 1.
Their interests will be represented through a newly established PA Bed & Breakfast Inns (PABBI) Council within PRLA, comprised of current PABBI board members, which will focus solely on advocacy, education, and issues unique to the B&B community.
