Restaurant/bar coming to City Center

The owners of City Center Lehigh Valley, a major mixed-use development in downtown Allentown, said area restaurateur Donny Petridis will open an 8,000-square-foot restaurant and bar at Two City Center on the corner of 7th andHamilton streets.
Petridis, co-founder and former co-owner of popular area restaurants Melt and Blue, is currently interviewing New York City- and Chicago-based restaurant design firms to help him create a refined-yet-relaxed restaurant on the first floor of Two City Center.
The restaurant will serve lunch, dinner and cocktails in a setting similar to New York’s trendy bistros. In addition to a large indoor dining area and a section for private parties, Petridis plans a bar that will open into an outdoor lounge across Seventh Street from the entrance to Allentown’s planned arena. The restaurant, which plans to serve everything from steaks and seafood to burgers and salads, is projected to open in the second quarter of 2014.
Two City Center will be a high-rise Class A office building with six floors totaling approximately 180,000–200,000 square feet at 645 Hamilton St.
Groundbreaking is scheduled for this fall and construction completion and occupancy is planned for spring 2014. Petridis’ restaurant is the first for City Center.
