St. Luke’s to expand services at its Easton hospital

St. Luke’s University Health Network will open a state-of-the-art, surgical services suite and add gastrointestinal testing and services at its Easton location, the former Easton Hospital.
St. Luke’s bought the financially struggling hospital from Steward Health Care last year.
“The recent upgrades to our main lobby and exterior signage, as well as the new operating room suite and expansion of treatments and services, all represent the continued investment that St. Luke’s has made in the community,” said Linda Grass, president, St. Luke’s Easton Campus. “This commitment to the highest level of care for Easton-area residents assures them that they will continue to receive quality, compassionate care in a community hospital setting with access to specialists throughout the St. Luke’s Network.”
St. Luke’s also recently announced that well-known specialty care practices, St. Luke’s Endoscopy Center – Twin Rivers (formerly Twin Rivers Endoscopy Center) and St. Luke’s Gastroenterology – Twin Rivers (formerly Twin Rivers Gastroenterology), will be joining the network.
Dr. Robert Bloch, of St. Luke’s General Surgery – Easton, and chief of surgery at St. Luke’s Easton Campus, emphasizes the importance of having access to a host of specialists, not just at the Easton Campus, but throughout the Network, treating patients under the trusted St. Luke’s umbrella.
“I’ve been practicing in the area a long time, so it’s such a thrill to be able to go back home to the Easton Campus,” says Dr. Bloch. “I’m pleased that we can offer patients easier access to exceptional surgical care without making them travel out of the area; we’re able to build a lasting relationship with patients, earning their trust and putting their health and well-being first. The Easton Campus is once again a full-service, community hospital offering the great majority of what people need, close to home.”
St. Luke’s said it plans to continue to invest in the Easton Campus.
