Sustainable Energy Fund of Schnecksville has launched a Nonprofit Energy Makeover Contest.
According to a press release, the program will award a major energy efficiency building retrofit to a winning nonprofit organization in Central or Northeastern Pennsylvania at no cost to the nonprofit.
The winning nonprofit organization, which will be chosen for its inefficient building as well as the good it does for the community, is expected to realize dramatic energy savings.
The money saved from high electric bills can instead be directed towards furthering the nonprofit’s mission, said John Costlow, president and CEO of SEF. The main goal of the Makeover Contest is to promote energy efficiency and assist energy users in overcoming educational and financial barriers to a sustainable energy future.
“Sustainable Energy Fund is looking forward to rewarding a deserving nonprofit with a full energy upgrade at no cost to them,” said Costlow. “We are excited to launch this program and bring more energy awareness to Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania.”
Sustainable Energy Fund is currently accepting applications from nonprofit organizations located in the PPL service area. To enter, nonprofit organizations can visit www.nonprofitenergymakeover.org. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until January 1, 2025.
