Newsweek listed LVH–Cedar Crest and LVH–Pocono among its Best Maternity Care Hospitals for 2023. The hospitals, part of Allentown-based Lehigh Valley Health Network, are among 384 health care organizations on the list. Newsweek and Statista surveyed more than 10,000 medical professionals, including neonatal and perinatal doctors, nurses and midwives, for their recommendations. They also focused on key performance indicators relevant to maternity care and results from patient surveys.
Manufacturing
Forbes magazine named Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh County-based Air Products on its list of America’s Best Employers for Diversity for 2023. Air Products ranked fourth on the overall list and first in the construction, oil and gas operations, mining and chemicals industry group. For this list, market research firm Statista interviewed about 45,000 U.S. employees, evaluating companies based on employees’ recommendations on their own and other companies and how companies fared across diversity-related best practices. Recommendations of women, older people and minority groups were weighted higher than nonminority groups.

Talon Restaurants LLC leased 3,200 square feet of retail space at 500-600 E Lancaster Ave., Shillington, Berks County, from Shillington Partners LLC. Springettsbury Township, York County-based Bennett Williams Commercial represented Shillington Partners in the transaction.
Talon Restaurants LLC leased 3,000 square feet of retail space at 3240 N. Fifth Street Highway, Reading, Berks County, from Sol Khoudari. Springettsbury Township, York County-based Bennett Williams Commercial represented Khoudari in the transaction.
SF Lehigh Valley LLC leased 1,600 square feet of retail space at 2285 Schoenersville Road, Bethlehem, Northampton County, from Westgate Mall Owners LLC. Springettsbury Township, York County-based Bennett Williams Commercial represented SF Lehigh Valley in the transaction.
Senior care
U.S. News & World Report recognized Hanover Township, Northampton County-based Traditions of Hanover on its Best Independent Living list. U.S. News & World Report’s ratings recognize senior living communities in the categories of independent living, assisted living, memory care and continuing care retirement community. Communities are rated based on consumer satisfaction survey data from residents and family members. Traditions of Hanover residents noted excellence in value, activities and enrichment, management, safety, location and environment, and staff and hospitality.
Other
SCORE Chester and Delaware Counties gave Marina Lawrence, founder and owner of Philadelphia-based Life Maid Easy, a 2023 Small Business Achievement Award. Life Maid Easy is a woman-owned residential and commercial cleaning company serving Philadelphia and the Lehigh Valley. Lawrence’s SCORE mentor’s insight and experience helped her bottom-line profit improve 245 percent over 2021, and Lawrence opened a second location in Lehigh County. In the fourth quarter of 2022, the business had record revenue and profit numbers with an outlook for continued growth.
