U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm will speak at the 40th PA Chamber Annual Dinner at the Hershey Lodge on Monday, Oct. 7.
The announcement was made by the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, the commonwealth’s largest broad-based business advocacy organization.
“Pennsylvania‘s diverse energy sector is one of the key assets powering our state and nation’s economy forward, ensuring our nation’s energy independence, and driving innovation,” PA Chamber President and CEO Luke Bernstein said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to welcome Secretary Granholm to the PA Chamber Annual Dinner to meet with the employers leading America’s energy dominance, discuss ongoing partnership and investment opportunities, and celebrate Pennsylvania’s central role in driving economic prosperity.”
Sworn in as the 16th Secretary of Energy on Feb. 25, 2021, Granholm is leading DOE’s work to advance diverse energy technologies. In addition, Granholm She oversees DOE’s core missions of promoting American leadership in scientific discovery, maintaining the nuclear deterrent and reducing nuclear danger, and remediating environmental harms.
Before becoming Secretary of Energy, Granholm was Governor of Michigan, serving two terms from 2003 to 2011. Following her terms as governor, Granholm joined the faculty of the University of California, Berkeley. In her role as a Distinguished Professor of Practice in the Goldman School of Public Policy, Granholm focused on the intersection of law, clean energy, manufacturing, policy, and industry.
The PA Chamber Dinner will also feature a presentation by U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, R-FL, and a fireside chat featuring tennis great Serena Williams.
