The tower, constructed of steel and glass, will be 180 feet tall and offer street views from floors two through five and 360-degree views from floors six through 12.
City Center Investment Corp. president J.B. Reilly, State Sen. Pat Browne, Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski, representatives of future Tower 6 tenants and local dignitaries gave remarks before a beam-signing ceremony at the Community Deck at Sixth and Walnut in the downtown.
“One tenant that has signed on and will occupy the entire ninth floor is Captrust, a financial advisory firm …,” Reilly said of the firm that is in Hanover Township, Northampton County. “They’ll be bringing their team of 25 employees to the downtown.”
The building is 60 percent leased; officials expect it to be fully leased before construction is completed.
Spillman Farmer Architects of Bethlehem designed the building, and Serfass Construction of North Whitehall Township is building it.
