Energy Association of Pennsylvania names new president/CEO

Andrew Tubbs has been named president and CEO of the Energy Association of Pennsylvania (EAP).
A trade association that represents and promotes the interests of regulated electric and natural gas distribution companies operating in Pennsylvania, the EAP announced that Tubbs will become its president and CEO effective Jan. 27.
“Andy’s deep understanding of the energy industry and commitment to transformation will be instrumental as EAP addresses the ever-changing landscape of energy policy and innovation in Pennsylvania,” Michael Huwar, EAP board chairman and president of Peoples Gas said in a statement. “His proven ability to drive strategic initiatives will strengthen our efforts to provide safe and reliable service to customers at a cost they can value.”
Tubbs will lead EAP’s initiatives to advocate for the energy industry and strengthen collaboration among policymakers, regulators and utility providers.
“I am honored to lead the Energy Association of Pennsylvania and continue its mission of supporting a sustainable and reliable energy future for our commonwealth,” said Tubbs. “From day one, we’re going to roll up our sleeves and get to work immediately on key issues that impact our commonwealth’s energy industry. I look forward to partnering with our members to identify opportunities and navigate challenges while we ensure that energy utilities remain resilient and responsive to the needs of their customers and communities.”
According to a release, Tubbs is a longtime energy expert with more than two decades of work within Pennsylvania’s energy industry. He has served as counsel to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission and recently led regulatory strategy across six states for NiSource and its affiliates.
Tubbs is experienced in regulatory policy and strategy, legislative affairs, and utility operations, including roles as vice president of external and customer affairs for Columbia Gas, a subsidiary of NiSource, and as an attorney with Post & Schell, P.C., where he specialized in state and federal energy law, per the release.
Tubbs succeeds longtime EAP president and CEO Terrance J. Fitzpatrick.
