In addition to receiving the top ranking overall in the homebuilder sector, Toll Brothers ranked No. 6 among all 1,500 companies in the survey in the quality of products/services category, behind only Apple, Walt Disney, Amazon, Alphabet and Nordstrom and ahead of Netflix, Facebook, Alcoa and Wynn Resorts, it said.
In a statement, Douglas C. Yearley Jr., Toll Brothers’ CEO, called the ranking the greatest honor in the company’s history.
“This recognition, coupled with, again, being ranked by Fortune magazine as the most admired homebuilding company among the world’s most admired companies, is an incredible tribute to our Toll Brothers associates and their dedication to our customers and our communities.”
The honor comes as one of the company’s founders announces his retirement.
Bruce E. Toll, vice chairman of the board of directors of Toll Brothers, has announced his intention to retire as of March 8.
“When my brother Bruce and I started Toll Brothers nearly 50 years ago, we could never have dreamed that the company would be what it is today,” said Robert Toll, executive chairman.
It’s not the first honor for the company. The company was named 2014 builder of the year by Builder magazine and builder of the year in 2012 by Professional Builder magazine, making it the first two-time recipient.
Toll Brothers was founded in 1967 and became a public company in 1986. Its common stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “TOL.”
It builds homes in 19 states.
