Mack Trucks names new head of Lehigh Valley operations

will soon have a new leader. The , which owns Mack, has named Gunnar Brunius as vice president and general manager of the plant in Lower Macungie Township.

The plant produces all heavy-duty Mack truck models built for North American and export markets.

Brunius currently serves as vice president of the Volvo Trucks vehicle assembly plant in Tuve, Sweden, a position he has held since 2015.

He has nearly 40 years of , engineering and business experience at the Volvo Group, Saab Automotive AB, and General Motors, according to a press release.

He is replacing Rickard Lundberg who recently left the post to return to Sweden.

Brunius will assume his new role Oct. 1.
