Minimum wage increase stalled in Pennsylvania Senate

Efforts to raise the in have stalled in the Senate, meaning Pennsylvania’s minimum wage remains at $7.25 per hour. 

House Bill 2189 to raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour passed in the Pa. House. 

The bill would raise the state’s minimum wage to $11 per hour, then $13 in 2028, and $15 in 2029. 

However, the bill has remained dormant in the Republican-led .

The minimum wage has not increased in 17 years. 

Proponents of the increase noted that the state currently ties for the lowest minimum wage in the U.S.
