PPL Foundation awards educational grants in eastern Pa.

Grants have been awarded to nonprofit organizations across eastern Pennsylvania as part of the PPL Foundation’s 2024 Energizing Education grants.
According to a release, the grants will expand access to educational programs for students throughout the region.
“The PPL Foundation is proud to support nonprofit organizations that are helping to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in tomorrow’s workforce,” Lissette Santana, president of the PPL Foundation, said in a statement. “Our Energizing Education Grants are designed to provide lasting, positive impacts by funding programs that create pathways for students to reach their full potential and thrive in a rapidly changing world.”
Energizing Education Grants ranging from $2,500 to $50,000 were awarded to the following eastern Pennsylvania organizations:
- Bethlehem Area Education Foundation, Bethlehem
- Boys & Girls Club of Allentown
- Boys & Girls Club of Bethlehem
- Communities In Schools of Eastern Pennsylvania, Allentown
- Manufacturers Resource Center, Allentown
- Northampton Area Public Library, Northampton
- William Allen Construction Company, Allentown
The funding brings the amount awarded through PPL Foundation’s various Pennsylvania grant programs and United Way support in 2024 to more than $5.4 million. Funds awarded support educational programs, including those focused on encouraging students to pursue careers in STEM, enhancing literacy and summer learning opportunities, and providing resources to help students prepare for college and careers.
Applications for the foundation’s next round of grants – Powering Equity – will be accepted from Jan. 1 through Feb. 15.
