A lot more U.S. families will soon get to experience the Crayola Experience.

More than 20,000 donors and partners united to raise a record-breaking $19,741,940 during United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley’s annual fundraising campaign.  

United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley plans to honor Crayola of Easton with this year’s PPL LIVE UNITED Award.  

Working with the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley, more than 500 volunteers representing 38 local companies volunteered at nonprofits in the region, performing tasks ranging from power washing and landscaping to painting and gathering supplies. 

Similar to the annual Peeps diorama contest held for New Year’s Peepfest each year, the authority has organized its first-ever Peeps Meet Diorama Contest in partnership with Joanne Dennison of The MeetGuide.

The Forks Township-based manufacturer of crayons and other art supplies said it is now using 100% renewable energy for its operations.

The 2020 video contest encourages students to “explore and get excited about cool manufacturing careers” and to produce profiles of companies throughout Pennsylvania, according to the MRC.

Easton’s Crayola Inc. tapped a former Yankee Candle executive as its new CEO. Rich Wuerthele, who has been in the consumer goods industry for more than 30 years, will take the helm of the crayon and art products company Jan. 16.

June 20 marked the 27th annual United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley’s Day of Caring, which is run in partnership with the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley.
