is getting ready for its 17th Annual .

The challenge is the organization’s signature community impact and fundraising event that mobilizes corporate volunteers to strengthen nonprofit organizations across the Lehigh Valley.

Each year, the Volunteer Challenge connects businesses, employees, and nonprofit partners through team-based service projects that address real community needs.

“The Volunteer Challenge is more than a fundraiser—it’s a powerful model for how businesses can support local nonprofits through the completion of Challenge projects, “said Karen Smith, CEO, Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley. “Each project represents an investment of people, skills and resources that directly impact our nonprofit community and the people that are served.”

She said since its launch in 2010, the Volunteer Challenge has engaged 112 businesses who have supported 156 unique nonprofit organizations and the completion of 359 sustainable projects.

Volunteer Center is inviting nonprofit organizations throughout the Lehigh Valley to once again submit their Challenge projects that offer hands-on, skills-based, or team volunteer opportunities

Project submissions are due Jan. 23. For more information visit www.volunteerlv.org/volunteer-challenge
